Exhibition on view from September 28, 2024-January 18, 2025.
The New Members Exhibition opens on September 28th, and features artisans that joined the Guild between 2021-2024. There is a two-step jury process for joining the Guild, where potential members submit high-quality images of their work before submitting actual objects for the Object Jury that takes place at the Folk Art Center.
Artists can now join the Guild online by submitting their images through the Guild’s website. Almost every medium is represented by the newest Guild Members in this exhibit: stained glass, jewelry, clay, fiber, mixed media, stained glass, wood, and more. New Members exhibition is open until January 18, 2025.
Admission to the Folk Art Center is free. The Folk Art Center is located at Milepost 382 on the Blue Ridge Parkway in east Asheville. Headquarters to the Southern Highland Craft Guild, the Center also houses three galleries, a library, a craft shop and a Blue Ridge Parkway information desk and bookstore. The center is open daily from 10am-5pm.
