Grandma’s Biscuits

Was there no type of “fat” in your Grandma’s biscuits? I realize the buttermilk is full fat, but I also add a type of fat, either solid shortening or butter to the biscuit dough. Just curious. My Grandma, aunts, and Mom all added a solid fat to their recipe. Either way, nothing beats hot or cold buttermilk biscuits!

That was my same thought, no fat? I use full-fat buttermilk as well but I have always used a solid shortening too. All family members I have known used solid shortening in their buttermilk biscuits. You are right though, hot or cold there is nothing better!
